Jacob Buckner is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Lincoln, NE who attends Lincoln Southwest HS. Medium frame, medium build. Body projects well for added strength and size. At the plate shows a straight stance with a leg lift trigger. Gains ground with stride and launches lower half to contact with linear actions. Stride length causes eye level to drop at times. Long, loose swing path that produces some strength and bat speed with the ability to extended through contact well. Rhythm and looseness of swing project well. Worked out defensively from the outfield. Clean glove work and transition through gather. Moves well while closing on baseball with young arm actions and developing accuracy. Also pitched showing a high energy delivery with slight swing on the front hip. Fastball has some arm side run from a high 3/4 slot, topped at 77 mph. Slider has quality tilt at 68 mph. Mixed pitches well with the ability to consistently throw strikes. Good student as well.
