JD Day is a 2020 SS/2B, 3B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Ringgold, GA who attends McCallie School. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary shortstop with clean, sound footwork while traveling to and working through the baseball. Funnels with fluidity and worked through exchange well. Showed the ability to release from multiple arm angles generating accurate carry to the bag at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and large leg lift trigger. Deeper hand load and worked to contact with some linear shift. Loose, extended hand path to contact with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed some bat speed with strength at contact when on time and squared. Ball jumped off the barrel with occasional authroity to each outfield gap. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Very good student as well.
