Griffin Blankenship is a 2019 3B/ with a 6-0 205 lb. frame from Versailles, KY who attends Woodford County. Large, strongly-built frame with quality athleticism and projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.29 seconds. Sets up to hit from spread, slightly open stance with compact hand path. Rotational swing throughout both upper and lower halves, keeps hands inside, has strength in swing and works to get barrel through on time with authority. Can drive the ball, most power at present is to the pull field. Waits back well in the infield, clean actions at the ball and through transfer, showed quality arm strength across the infield up to 78 MPH. Worked out at 1st base as well, funnels out front well and makes pivot with solid footwork, accurate to both 2B and 3B up to 78 MPH. Pitched as well, short rocker step into compact delivery, gets downhill well and throws from low three quarters arm slot. Fastball worked 73-76 MPH with arm side life on the pitch, curveball showed sweeping action away from right-handed hitters. Pounded the zone with FB and attacked hitters. Good student.
