Julio De Jesus is a 2018 2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends McKinney Boyd HS. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary second baseman with smooth paced, sound footwork while traveling to and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and worked through exchange with fluidity. Showed developing arm strength while creating accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 78 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Creates slight top half coil at load and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Showed some bat speed with strength at contact while turning the barrel head through the zone. Flashed some jump off the barrel to the pull side gap when squared. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition.
