Ford Eldrdge is a 2019 2B/RHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from La Jolla, CA who attends The Bishop's HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Left handed hitter with a spread, straight stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Direct, inside path with a line drive swing plane. Smooth hands through extension with a mid-field approach. Shows good barrel control throughout the zone, consistently squaring up contact in battting pracitce. Turns the barrel to contact with intent at times, ball really jumps off the barrel to pull side gap when squared. Worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth actions while closing and surrouding the baseball. Clean glove skills while funneling the baseball out front with smooth glove to hand exchanges. Throws from a three-quarters slot producing accurate carry across the infield. Easy, athletic actions while ranging and working through slow roller. Also pitched showing a smooth tempo delivery. Shows a clean delivery with good balance through extension to the plate. Releases from a three-quarters arm slot that produces some downhill angle. Curveball has 11/5 shape with solid spin and some depth. Consistently pounded the zone with both pitches, while flashing the ability to get to each edge of the plate. Mainted velocity from the stretch as well. Tools projects to develop with continue physical development. Good student as well.
