Sonny Fauci is a 2019 RHP/3B, MIF, OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Old Bridge, NJ who attends Old Bridge. Long and lean frame with present physical strength and squared off shoulders. Ran a 5.16 second 40 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins windup with a side step to a high leg lift, long arm action up to a high 3/4 slot, throws pretty easy, get good back leg drive, arm turns over early through the backside, creates lots of life and angle. Fastball has outstanding riding arm side life, topped out at 89 mph, mixed in a sharp breaking ball with hard 11-to-5 bite, really good feel for breaking ball, maintained fastball arm speed on sinking changeup, good three pitch mix, worked mostly armside with fastball but could work on trying to locate fastball more to glove side. Also took reps in the outfield, attacks ball quickly with longer strides, big crow hop into release, works thorugh lower half mostly well, good arm strength and carry on throws. Righthanded hitter, even stance, leg lift trigger, compact swing with quick hands, gets the barrel through the hitting zone nicely, leverage out in front, good feel for the barrel overall. Excellent student. Named to 2018 Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to St. John's.
