Gavin Nalu is a 2021 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from La Mesa, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic. Shows some good speed, running a 7.03 second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a tall and athletic build. Has an aggressive close to the baseball, funnels out front with quick and clean exchanges. Has accurate carry to the bag with some present and developing arm strength at 84 miles per hour. Solid actions throughout, can make big jumps defensively as strength is added. Has a spread and even stance at the plate, with a simple leg lift trigger and some linear shift into contact. Stays behind the baseball well with a fluid swing and middle of the field to pull side approach. Consistently creates line drive contact through the middle of the field. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch. Has a high three-quarters slot, stays balanced throughout and has good linear direction at foot strike. Attacks hitters with a fastball at 78-to-81 miles per hour. Uses defense well, forcing early contact. Excellent student.
