Clay Slone is a 2017 C/ with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Pikeville, KY who attends Pikeville HS. Medium frame, solid sturdy build with athleticism. Ran a 6.95 60-yard dash. Looks the part behind the plate, developing receiving skills, has a quick transfer and release to go along with solid arm strength. Could use more consistent direction with footwork and stay lower in crouch, but has solid defensive tools to work with. Right handed hitter, hands away from his body, starts with a wide base. Inside hand path approach, upper-half rotational swing, flashes some feel for the barrel and a line-drive swing plane. Great student.
