Adam Gomez is a strong 5'10, 170 pound catcher from Elmwood Park, NJ. He hits from a short, controlled stance and stride, and his hands are very quick and strong with a slight uppercut swing path. Gomez also gets good extension through the ball, and has good power potential. Behind the plate, he showed a 2.25 pop time to second base during workouts, however he seemed to throw harder and more accurately during games where he threw a 2.10 pop time. Gomez also had solid receiving skills with good lateral movement. He could develop into a fine DI catcher. Adam is an outstanding student who could get some serious interest from Ivy schools.
