John Louis Rodriguez Perez is a 2017 SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium athletic build. 6.94 runner, has very good footwork in the middle infield defensively, is quick with his first step and shows range while working through the ball, good hands at the ball as a result, has raw arm strength but tends to sacrifice accuracy for velocity at times, better with a quick release in rhythm with receiving the ball. Right handed hitter, spread straight stance, moves into contact well with good lower 1/2 timing, needs additional strength but has a good swing to build from, solid gap to gap contact with an aggressive stroke, some extension and lift at contact. Good student.
