PG Grade: 8
Christopher Escobar is a 5'9" 155 pound 2007 infielder from Stockton, California who attends St. Mary's High School. He ran a 7.58 60 and threw 79 mph across the infield during the workout. He has a small frame with a lean athletic build that has some lively actions and the room to add strength. Christopher has quick balanced feet in the field and has good athletic actions. He has very good hands and the awareness to play the middle infield positions. At the plate, Escobar has a good idea and showed some very surprising strength. The ball jumps off his bat ery quickly. Christopher stays inside the ball very well and is a very promising switch hitter. He gathers his hands well and has good bat speed by using his loose hands and wrists. He is more of a gap to gap hitter right now but should develop some very good power in the near future. Christopher is a good student who will have a lot to offer a program at the next level.
