Forbes Elam is a 2015 LHP/1B, LHP, OF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Irmo, SC who attends Dutch Fork. Elam has a medium sized frame with a slender lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a shorter arm action. Elam has some arm speed and hides the ball well. He uses a full back turn and hip turn at balance point and gets back to an online finish. Elam slings it some and his frontside tends to land open. He gets some sink on his fastball and looks to work down in the zone. Elam throws a 1/7 curveball with developing shape and spin to it. Defensively he has developing outfield actions with arm strength up to 76 MPH. At the plate, Elam starts with an open stance and has a big load to start his swing. He has good bat speed and gets extension in his swing. Elam has solid hitting tools and stays through the ball well. Very good student.
