Taylor Pendley is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Celina, TX who attends Prosper High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.16 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher, side step start into delivery, leg raise to belt, worked from the middle of the rubber, longer arm action, wrist wrap, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Athletic delivery, landing online and on a stiff front leg. Finished well through the ball and landed in a good position to field. Fastball worked 77-81 mph with good arm side life and plane when working on top of the pitch. Curveball flashed good spin with 11/5 shape and showed the makings of a swing and miss offering. Worked both pitches to both sides of the plate with low effort through release. Mixed pitches well and generated weak contact. Projects well in the future to continue to add to his fastball. Also took batting practice, used a simple glide to the ball with a swing that primarily worked through his upper half. Inside-out swing path with a line drive swing plane. Flashed ability to drive the ball off the barrel with average bat speed and a pull side approach. Got barrel to the ball well and will improve consistency with additional lower half incorporation. Good student. Verbal commitment to Texas Tech.
