Baez is a 5-11, 170 lb left handed pitcher from Miami with a solid athletic frame. He throws from an over the top release point with clean pitching mechanics and a good downhill angle to the plate. Baez topped out at 82 mph on his fastball and mostly pitched around 78 mph. He got some late boring life away from right handed hitters and commanded both sides of the plate with his fastball. Baez also threw a 64-66 mph curveball and 72-73 mph change up that are developing pitches for him, especially in learning to command them as well as he commands his fastball. Baez is a good student.
