Daniel De La Pena is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Monterey Park, CA who attends Mark Keppel. Medium frame with slender athletic build, good projection remaining on frame. Hits from straight stance with high hand set, gets rotational at times, will use exaggerated hand load as well. Shows solid bat speed through the zone, plane can get uphill at times, hands work well throughout hitting mechanics. Highly projectable athlete in the outfield, works through the ball well and fields cleanly. Loose, athletic actions with excellent arm strength projection. Throws topped at 83 MPH, very clean arm action, very easy with high projection. Pitched as well, showing a long, clean arm action with projection. Back turn delivery, has some deception, throws strikes consistently. Very quick and easy inning after pounding the zone with just fastballs, working 76-77.
