Austin Borden is a 2007 right handed pitcher/third baseman from State College Area HS in State College, Pennsylvania, with a good 6'2"/190 pound frame. Austin pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with minimal effort. He has a balanced and online delivery with good command of the strike zone. His fastball was 79 mph and he gets late movement on his 71 mph breaking ball. Borden's changeup is a strikeout pitch at 69 mph and he threw 3 scoreless innings in game action with 4 strikeouts. As a right handed hitter, he hits from an upright and balanced stance. Borden has quick hands and makes consistent solid contact. In the infield he moves well and is solid defensively at this base. Borden is an excellent student.
