2015 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Trevor Kimm is a 2016 C/OF/3B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Urbandale, IA who attends Urbandale HS. Medium frame with strong, thick build at present with strength as well as some projection. Hits from a spread stance with high hands, lays the bat flat pre-swing, drops hands into load and comes through the zone with a semi-rollover bat path. Shows solid bat speed at times, but hands can be inconsistent. Shows patient approach in game, doesn't expand the strike zone to chase bad pitches. Understands the zone well. Sets up low behind the plate during defensive drills. Receives well, transfers well, and shows short, compact arm action on throws to 2nd base. Threw 69 MPH from behind the plate and popped as low as 2.34 during drills. Flashes good footwork but it is a bit inconsistent at present. Ran a 7.48 60 yard dash. Very good student.
