Blake Mitchell is a 2023 C/RHP/SS with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Sinton, TX who attends Sinton. Strong athletic build. 7.00 runner in the sixty. Very athletic behind the plate defensively, sets up low and flexible, comes out of his crouch very quickly, easy plus arm strength with a quick but unrushed release. Athletic enough to play shortstop when not behind the plate. Left handed hitter, has a busy hand load, extended lifting swing with very good extension, power approach with big raw bat speed. Also pitched, works from a tall delivery with a deep arm action and high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 95 mph in a short outing, also threw a big breaking downer curveball. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
