Jack Bergren is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 6-4 175 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Lane Tech HS. Lanky long limbed build, lots of room to add strength. Extended over the top arm action, gets downhill well from the high release point, balanced well paced delivery that he repeats well. Steady low 80's fastball, topped out at 82 mph, works the bottom of the strike zone and commands his fastball well. Curveball has some spin and occasional 1/7 depth, developing feel for a change up. Projects to add velocity as he gains strength and has good present mechanics. Left handed hitter, spread stance, limited lower half use, smooth balanced swing, can improve bat speed with better shift into contact and additional strength. Good student.
