Donny Bendo Jr is a 2017 OF/C with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Millbrae, CA who attends Archbishop Riordan. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build and beginnings of strength throughout. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.16 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder, fluid actions while close on the baseball with clean glove actions through transition. Extended arm circle at separation and releases from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Showed solid arm strength, topping at 83 mph. Baseball came out of hand cleanly producing uphill carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, very spread stance and high back elbow set. Creates some coil and wrap with front hip at load. Quick hands with a compact path to contact. Barrel comes through the zone on a level, line drive plane. Primarily used a mid-field approach, but shows the barrel and hand skills to work all fields. Swing is repeatable with rhythm, consistently squared up contact throughout batting pratice. Good student as well.
