2007 Holiday Open Showcase
Garrett Rogers is a 2007 SS/OF/RHP that attends Coral Springs Charter HS and resides in Coral Springs, FL with a 6'0", 160 lb. frame. Garrett has a lean athletic frame and showed a lot of versatility in the field. At the plate Garrett has a wristy swing with good bat speed. He makes consistent line-drive contact and just needs a little more strength to really start driving the ball hard. Garrett has some bat wrap and needs to work on getting ready to hit a little earlier. In the field Garrett showed the actions to play all of the infield positions. He has quick feet with soft hands and good raw arm strength. Garrett has good body control and looks real comfortable in the field. On the mound Garrett throws from a 3/4 arm slot with nice run on his fastball. Garrett has a deceptive motion and makes hitters put the ball in play. With some more extension in his arm action, Garrett could easily pick up some velocity. Garrett is a solid player that could attract attention from many Junior College programs.
