Amir Wright is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Griffith, IN who attends Griffith HS. Slender young build, minimal present strength. Left handed hitter, big stride into contact, some back side collapse, long swing with opposite field contact, line drive swing plane, puts the ball down onto the ground and runs, aggressive approach. 7.45 runner, aggressive on the bases and makes good decisions. Moves well to the ball in the outfield, can improve footwork, arm strength developing. Also pitched, compact arm action, front side comes open early, 3/4's slot, stays tall in delivery, upper 60's fastball with some arm side running action, soft short breaking curveball, threw strikes and made hitters swing the bat. Aggressive young player who works hard. Good student.
