Jonathan Fuentes is a 2018 RHP/3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Norwalk, CA who attends Santa Fe. Large frame with broad shoulders and a solid build. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather with slight coil over back leg. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball showed some downward tilt through the zone in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 80 miles per hour. Curveball had 12/6 shape with tighter spin and good depth to the bottom of the zone in the upper 60's. Consistently created weak contact with breaking ball flashing swing and miss potential. Maintained arm speed well with a changeup offering that hand some sink as well. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth paced, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Developing range to each side and worked through the baseball with clean glove actions. Topped at 77 miles per hour to the bag creating on line carry. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Flashed some bat speed with strength while utilizing and naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Looked to created separation at contact and lift the baseball to the middle of the field between the gaps.
