Atwood is a 5-8, 140 lb left handed hitting junior outfielder from Texas. He's a very good defensive outfielder who tracks the ball well and made some nice plays chasing down fly balls. Atwood is a 7.35 runner who appears quicker on the field and likes playing the aggressive speed game. He showed good arm strength at 79 mph and is accurate with his throws. At the plate Atwood has a good balanced set up and a quick, compact swing. He made very consistent hard contact both in batting practice and in the games and seems to have an advanced ability to square up on the ball. He even surprised us a couple times by turning his 140 lb body hard on inside pitches and driving them. He fits the leadoff hitter profile. Atwood was such a scrappy, hustling player who performed so consistently that he was named to the Prospect Game more for his ability to play than for his raw tools. Atwood is a good student as well.
