Daniel Gambill is a 2008 RHP/1B that attends Cardinal Newman HS and resides in Lake Worth, FL with a 6'0", 155 lb. frame. Daniel has a lean athletic build with some room to fill out. On the mound Daniel has a short arm action with nice sink and run on his fastball. He has nice bit on a 12 to 6 curveball and stays around the strike zone. Daniel has a tendency to open up early and fall towards first base. Once he gets his delivery online with the plate he should pick up velocity and become more consistent on the mound. At the plate Daniel hits from a wide-open stance and is primarily an opposite field hitter at this point. Daniel gets long with his swing and will need to work on keeping his hands inside the ball more at the plate. Daniel is a player that could attract the attention of many small to mid-level college programs.
