Cal Kellner is a 2016 OF/1B, RHP with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Woodbury, MN who attends East Ridge. Extra large frame with well-proportioned, muscular build. Still has plenty of room to fill out with good muscle mass, strength. Right handed hitter, even stance with sizeable leg lift trigger. Aggressive approach, swings hard, has some jump off of the barrel. Strong kid with solid bat speed, flashes ability impact the baseball. Foot doesn't always get down in time, but when he's in rhythm he shows solid power potential to the gaps. Primary outfielder, a bit tentative to the ball, could be more aggressive working through the ball. Solid footspeed, impressive for his size as he ran a 6.75 60-yard dash. Also pitches, works to a high 3/4's arm slot. Works from the 1B side of the rubber and uses a medium-extended arm-action with slight wrap on the backside. Fastball up to 82 mph, solid downhill plane and could be effective when spotted down in the strike zone. Also flashed some feel for a mid-60s curveball with 11/5 break. Solid physicality and overall tools, skillset. Excellent student. Named to the Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
