Alejandro Mosquera is a 2017 1B/OF with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Miami Killian HS. Extra-large frame, strong, sturdy present build. Right handed hitter, high back elbow with tight hands at setup. Good bat speed and impressive strength in swing. Full swing mechanics, swings hard and lets it fly. When upper and lower halves are in rhythm he shows big power and impact contact off of the barrel. Jumps off of the bat when squared, best contact when extended and working to the pullside, also flashes ability to shoot balls into the opposite field gaps. Hit the ball well in game-action, including double down the foul line. Worked out at first base, shows good footwork around the bag. Accurate throws from variety of arm slots, compact arm-action, gets the ball out quick. Good student.
