Alexander Castro is a 2017 RHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Luquillo, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Slender and athletic middle infielder's body, loose physical actions. High 3/4's arm slot with a smooth and quick arm circle in back, medium effort delivery, tends to land open with his lower half and fly open with his upper half at times, arm is fast. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side running action. Throws two different types of breaking balls, both have good spin and some tightness to them, harder breaking ball with more of a slider shape was more consistent and higher quality but both thrown for strikes. Key to development aside from strength gain is improving his direction to the plate for more consistent ability to power down to the bottom of the zone.
