Brooks Bengtson is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Rockville, MD who attends Georgetown Preparatory High School. Medium build and frame, highly athletic, and lots of room to continue to develop physically and add strength. Posted an impressive 6.87 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed impressive arm strength up to 92 mph with carry out of the hand. Showed well defensively as well at third base in game with clean fielding actions and the same strong arm. At the plate, started with a slightly open stance, high hand set, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Generated good torque through lower half with leverage out front. Intent to drive the ball in swing with a line drive plane and good bat speed. Long at times with power potential with additional strength. Also pitched, started with a deeper hip turn, short stride to the plate, long levers, long arm action, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Fastball worked 83-85/86 mph with natural cut and was aggressive with it. Showed more true action up in the zone and challenged hitters there. Curveball offering swing and miss pitch with 12/6 shape with depth and good spin. Would see fastball tick up more with additional drive from lower half. Named to Top Prospect List.
