Jake Meyer is a 2017 C/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Desert Mountain HS. Meyer has a medium sized frame with some strength. He has a high set up on his pop throws and showed some arm strength up to 77 MPH with some carry. He showed some receiving skills and made accurate throws on the bag. Meyer showed some blocking skills in the game and worked hard behind the plate. He starts with a wide stance at the plate and uses a small rock back load to start his swing. He has a no stride approach and has a simple swing. Meyer takes a hack and showed some pop. He has some hitting tools that could really improve with more rhythm to his swing. Very good student.
