Axel Salgado is a 2016 C/ with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Delray Beach, FL who attends Elev8 Sports Institute. Medium frame, sturdy athletic build with present strength. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Looks the part behind the plate, solid footwork, gains ground with feet on throws. Uses compact arm-action, with quick release and transfer to go with solid arm strength, popped a 2.09 in defensive drills. Switch hitter, flashes more fluidity and comfort from right side. Even stance, medium leg lift trigger, has good bat speed and pull-oriented approach from right side. Hits off front side a bit more from the left side, shows ability to keep hands back and stay inside the baseball, solid feel for the barrel with line-drive swing path. Solid overall skillset on both sides of ball. Very good student.
