Alex Church is a 6'1" 175 pound 2007 outfielder, infielder, and right handed pitcher from Las Vegas, Nevada who is a switch hitter and has a strong athletic build. He has good bat speed through the hitting zone and shows good strength to drive the ball to the gaps from both sides of the plate. Alex has a slightly open stance and uses a small stride to stay short to the ball. He looks to be a little stronger from the right side but he gets a little more lift from the left side. Church shows good balance and footwork in the field with a strong accurate throwing arm which he showed by throwing 78 mph from the outfield during the workout. He has good carry on his throws and it transfers to the infield as well. He showed that he has the speed to play the outfield by running a 7.01 60. Alex also took his turn on the hill as well. He topped out at 79 mph with his fastball and 69 mph with his curveball. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a compact arm action in back. He tends to keep the ball down in the strike zone very well with good arm speed out front.
