Jack Dashwood is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-6 216 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends St Augustine. Textbook young pitcher's build, long and loose and very projectable. Well paced delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot that creates angle, hides the ball well in back with low early hand action, hitter's swings showed that there was definite deception there, very good extension over his front side. Upper 80's fastball, plenty more in there with physical maturity, mostly straight but with very good angle, fastball has deception and really gets on hitters quick, works both sides of the plate with intent, induced some ugly swings against his fastball. Not consistent with his curveball release but will flash big 1/7 depth when over top of it, at times will have more of a slider tilt and depth to it. Hits all the check points you want to see in a young and projectable left hander. Good student, verbal commitment to UC Santa Barbara.
