Tyus Adkins is a 2014 3B/2B, RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Coralville, IA who attends Iowa City West. Adkins has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He pitches from an overhand arm slot with a long arm action. Adkins has a long arm action with some arm speed. He uses a high leg kick and works downhill well. He leans back some at balance point and pitches with some effort. Adkins tends to fly open with his frontside and spins some over his frontside. He throws an 11/5 curveball with good shape and spin to it. He also throws a change up at 78 MPH with some sink to it. Defensively, he has solid actions with good footwork through the ball. He has some arm strength with some carry on it. At the plate, Adkins uses a leg kick load to start his swing and has some bat speed. He showed some pop and made good contact. Very good student.
