Jacob Dominguez is a 2017 SS/IF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from West Covina, CA who attends South Hills HS. Nice athletic build, looks bigger and strong than listed, projects well physically. Right handed hitter, aggressive approach at the plate, swings hard and looks to drive the ball, has strength in his swing and the ball jumps, fights off tough pitches and hits the easier ones hard, showed some situational awareness as well, busts hard out of the box on contact. Has some polish in the middle infield, has good range and is a gliding athlete, quick feet around the bag at second base, might outgrow shortstop in the future but fine for now. High energy player who performed well, especially on offense. Good student.
