Justin Shaffer is a 2013 LHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Durant, IA who attends Durant HS. Has a big frame with a solid build. On the mound has a short arm action, short in the back, hides the ball well, has a fast arm, gets good extension out front, throws downhill, online delivery, curveball has a 2-8 break to it, good depth on his curveball, has a dirty changeup, has tail on his changeup, stays closed. At the plate starts slightly open, shows bat speed, has strength in his swing, show pop in his bat. Is an interesting prospect to follow on the mound and is an outstanding student.
