Andrew Bates is a 2017 OF/SS with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Pace, FL who attends Pace HS. Has a medium frame and an athletic build with room to fill as he matures. Solid athlete with versatility to play multiple positions. From the outfield, developing actions with solid throws, reached up to 82 MPH. More velocity to come as he eliminates arch on throws. At the plate, left handed hitter that starts with an open stance. Has quick hands and stays short to the baseball. Good weight shift through swing. Developing strength, can get pull heavy at times. Bat path has inconsistency. Projects well. Good student.
