EJ Alejandre is a 2013 LHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends King HS. Lean athletic build. Balanced delivery, loose arm with good arm speed, 3/4's arm slot, gets closed well at balance point, some effort at release, tends to land on hard front leg and recoil off line. Steady mid-80's fastball, topped out at 85 mph, will get good cutting action at times. Curveball best pitch, gets tight spin with sharp deep 1/7 shape, uses curveball well as strikeout pitch. Good sink on change up with proper velocity difference. Three solid pitches to work with, can refine delivery for better command and consistency. Good student.
