Brant Hurter is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 6-6 230 lb. frame from Canton, GA who attends Woodstock HS. Big broad shouldered build, very strong. Gets strong lower half into his delivery well, has lots of moving parts and is very deception, medium effort release but repeats well, extended 3/4's arm slot, creates big angle to the plate. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, gets good sink to go with the plane and angle and deception, gets to both sides of the plate with his fastball well. Curveball is a bit soft but it has big 1/7 depth to it. Turns over his change up well with nice fading life. Nice three-pitch mix. Very interesting arm who is still very projectable. Good student, verbal commitment to Georgia Tech.
