2005 Sunshine East Showcase
Mark Kemmerzell is a 2006 second baseman/right handed pitcher from Bel Air High School in Maryland, with a 5'10", 145 lb. frame. He has a lean frame with athletic actions. Offensively he is a right handed hitter who hits from a closed stance. Kemmerzell has a good eye and has good strike zone awareness. He doesn't chase bad pitches. He has a line drive swing plane, and shows good hand-eye coordination. There is a slight bat wrap in his swing which causes him to be late at times, but that is easily fixed. He also threw one inning at the showcase. He threw from a high 3/4 arm slot to over the top. His fastball topped out at 73 mph, and he mixed in a 61 mph breaking ball with some depth and a 67 mph changeup.
