Matt Anderson is a 2015 1B/LHP with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Flour Bluff HS. Slender athletic build with long arms and legs. Left handed hitter, wide spread stance, wrapped swing, can get long to the ball, has some strength and raw bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard when pulled, has projection offensively if he can shorten up his path to the ball. Big leg raise delivery on the mound, lots of moving parts, pulls front side down hard on release with effort, tends to lose height prior to release, 3/4's arm slot, has some deception. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, steady in the low 80's, occasional arm side run, showed better fastball command to right handed hitters, very soft curveball, tends to slow arm/body on change up, primary fastball pitcher, has the arm strength to improve with a calmer delivery. Good student.
