IF T.J. Cataldo: Cataldo is a senior infielder from Iowa who has signed to go to the University of Iowa. Cataldo’s raw physical tools aren’t high prospect level but he is an extremely polished player with a well above average skill level. His bat especially stands out. Cataldo hits from the left side of the plate with a nice, balanced approach. His hands are very quick to the ball and Cataldo has consistently shown us extra base power to the right centerfield gap and down the right field line. In fact, he could end up being a doubles machine at the college level because of how consistently he hits line drives down the line into the corner. Cataldo’s balanced approach and quick hands enable him to wait on balls well and recognize pitches and he rarely swings at a bad pitch, which could make him an ideal #2 hitter in college. Cataldo’s defensive play at second base mirrors his offensive approach. He lacks special quickness or arm strength but is always in good position, always set with his feet and has a very accurate arm. Pitchers will like him because he’ll make all the plays. He's a pro level hitter!

Cataldo is an "04" INF that we have followed for the past three years. He does everything fairly well, but it's his bat that really stands out. He has a beautiful LH swing and can flat out hit. He creates serious bat speed and the ball jumps off the wood. He's going to be a top college hitter and he's a winning type player. TJ could end up being a very nice draft pick out of college, he's definitely a highest level hitter.

Cataldo can hit. He is a 6 foot, 175 pound Junior infielder who ran a 7.04 in the 60 and threw with 77 mph velocity across the diamond. He has the arm and actions that will play at second base at the next level and his bat is going to hit without a doubt. He has a short and fast Left-handed swing with a slight uppercut and packs a lot of power. We have seen him many times before and the good eye he showed at the Midwest Showcase was not a fluke. He is a patient hitter who can pull the trigger late on a good fastball and has home run power with wood. He showed good fielding ability at the showcase and had some hard hits. He can hit the ball where it is pitched and we expect he will be getting lots of attention from Colleges this year.

Very good "04" infielder with a big time bat. Good hitting mechanics and outstanding bat speed. Attacks the ball under control. Will end up hitting for power. Handles the wood very well. Keep an eye on him.

Cataldo is kind of a secret. Not for long because this kid has some serious ability. One of the prettiest left-handed swings in the country. He can play the game very well, but his bat stands out! Good player, got to watch him hit to believe it!
