2004 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Shaun is a 2005 grad from Hemet High School in Southern California. He stands 6'2" 245 lbs. with a big boned, mature body. He will have to watch his weight in the future to reach his full baseball potential. Shaun has a compact arm circle and a 3/4's release point. He is loose and quick out front. He showed us three quality pitches that he wasn't afraid to mix aggressively. His fastball was steady at 84-85 mph, he showed good feel for a 73 mph change up and his 67 mph curveball had good depth and bite to it. Shaun projects very well to the college level if he can maintain his conditioning and body strength. With a good college conditioning program he could have a pro future. We have seen him top out at 88 at Brea Tournament.
