Robert Calabrese is a 2014 C/ with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Strong, athletic build, should add even more strength. Very good runner for a catcher, ran a 6.91 60 yard dash. Outstanding catching skill set, gets rid of the ball quickly and shows plus arm strength. Receiving skills need some refinement. Big arm, but had some high throws. High defensive upside. Right-handed hitter, works from a balanced setup. Power potential is there, gets the barrel out consistently, backspins the ball very well. Good hip rotation, hits the ball to the opposite field with authority. High level hitter. Good student. Was named to the Top Prospect List.
