Richard Mangus is a 2005 middle infielder from Norfolk, Virginia. Mangus is an athletic and angular 6'0", 160 lb. player with strong actions and good balance in all aspects of the game. Richard showed very good arm strength in the infield with smooth transfers and good footwork. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a wide base stance and reverse toe tap trigger. He shows a short bat path with very good bat speed, and good hand strength with good balance in his swing. Richard uses the whole field and stays inside the ball well. He has room to add strength and some power. Mangus projects as a good college bat that will continue to improve. He is an excellent student.
