2003 Western Underclass Showcase
Kaffel is a very projectable hitter who is very young for a Class of 2005 player and is only going to get stronger and better. Kaffel stroked line drive after line drive during games when he stayed compact and on the ball and when he starts filling out his broad shouldered 6-1, 175 lb frame, some of those gap shots are going to go over the fences. He had a confident, professional approach at the plate and the results showed this. Kaffel is playable at third base now but is more likely to end up at first base or in left field if he gains the size and strength we think he’s going to. He’s a 4.50/7.53 runner. This kid can really hit! Michael is an excellent student.
