Johnson is a 6-0, 210 lb junior right handed pitcher from Oregon. He had a raw delivery and fell off pretty heavily to the first base side on release. Johnson showed some arm strength initially, touching 81 mph on his fastball but had to let up to try to throw strikes and pitched mostly at 74-75 mph. He threw a couple of curveballs in the mid-50’s and a couple of mid-60’s change ups but mostly tried to pitch with his fastball. Johnson also played some third base in Fort Myers and showed some good raw power and bat speed in batting practice. He is a good student.
