Matt Hamlet is a 6' 152 pound 2007 middle infielder from Chesapeake, Virginia who attends Nansemond Suffolk Academy. He has a wiry athletic tone and a good projectable body. Matt continues to lower his running time and showed this by running a 7.11 60 and a 4.51 down the line. He had one of the best batting practice sessions showing good raw power and bat speed. He stays behind the ball well and drives the ball to all fields. He has a short swing and hits the ball deep in the zone. He made hard contact who will add more power as he gets stronger. Hamlet showed some very good hands and quick transfers in the field with good range to both sides. His feet work very well and his bat might move him to third base as he gets stronger. Matt is a very good prospect and must follow who was named to the Top Prospect game.
