Jordan Mitchell is a 2008 RHP/OF/1B with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ, who attends Horizon HS. Named to the top prospect team at the event. Mitchell has present strength in his body, and is a two-way prospect. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot. He has a balanced delivery and pitches out of the stretch. His fastball topped out at 86 mph, and he maintained that velocity. Mitchell throws a sharp slider that can be nasty at times giving him a quality strikeout pitch. He also mixes in a change-up at 76 mph with good arm action. His secondary pitches work, and he throws strikes. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with a balanced approach. He has bat speed through the zone and shows power to all fields. He has good hand-eye coordination and looks like a solid middle of the order hitter. Defensively he gets plus carry on his throws from the OF. Mitchell has great upside to his game, and is a good student.
