Fred Aguilar is a 2028 1B/LHP with a 5-9 190 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends St. Patrick. Compact thick build with good present strength. Left handed hitter, sets up in a slightly open stance with a small leg raise and stride into contact, has good hands into his swing with some strength in them, showed feel for the barrel with solid line drive contact to the pull side and some ability to go gap to gap, has a feel for hitting that should continue to develop. 7.79 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, fields the ball cleanly with good glove actions, comes off the bag well, throws from a lower slot and makes accurate throws, fundamentally sound and made the plays. Took a turn on the mound, works from a side step wind up with good tempo in his delivery and a mid 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 73 mph with plenty of life and located it well to both sides of the plate. Threw a short bullet slider as a breaking ball and also flashed a change up. Good student.
